Project Inspiration
In my project I want to emphasis the importance of sustainability. I want it to depict that natural life is beautiful and that nothing compares to the organic feel of the world around us. Lots of people assume you have to pay big money for beautiful things. Therefore my project is going to be a collection of things that mean something to me.
I am creative
I love photography and editing using programs such as Adobe Photoshop.
I want to learn to sow
I love fashion
I love the outdoors.
I like simple things in life.
Abigail Doan
ideas about fashioning self and the environment.
Abigail was my main inspiration. Her consideration of line, texture, shape are incredible. Her work depicts natural life, and the art she creates is so effortless yet beautiful. Her nets of string, wool, yarn and the amount of detail that goes into her designs is incredible. I however like more simple things like random threads from trees, natural shape of leaves and branches rather than creating objects and hanging them from nature. Her work totally blew me away and gave me inspiration for my project.
I love how she has displayed her work in a vintage kind of way. All the items in her project are different, simple, but together they complete the picture.

Lia Griffith:
Makes dresses out of a variety of recycled paper. I love her choice of colours and dress designs. Her collection inspired me to think outside the box and challenge myself.
Jum Nakao:
His collection pieces are very unique and quite abstract. They do not look like traditional clothes, however his precision to detail is incredible.

Sandra Backlund:
Uses a range of materials and mediums to create her designs. The peg dress looks amazing. Certainly got me thinking about my final presentation.
Ilya Plotnikov & Alexandra Zaharova
Her black and white paper dresses captivate me as the contrast looks so professional and high quality. I wear a lot of black and white and think the colours combined are very powerful. Her 3D appearing paper folds inspire me to create something using recycled paper.

These shoes made of paper are incredible. I would really like to take the geometric idea and bring it into my dress or skirt design. It looks very powerful and includes aspect of shape, line and texture that are appealing to me.

As you can see, fashion can be made out of everyday items. Researching artists has allowed me to aim high, and to use a variety of techniques and medias into my final designs.
